FRESH OUT OF THE BOX
A SkyLight comes in a box, like this.
STEP 1
Familiarize yourself with the SkyLight's three parts: base, stage, & clips.
STEP 2
There are six inserts that come with the SkyLight. Use the inserts to "size up" microscope eyepieces if necessary to ensure the SkyLight clamps firmly around the eyepiece.
STEP 3
Mount the SkyLight onto the microscope eyepiece, using inserts as necessary.
STEP 4
Place your smartphone on the SkyLight stage and center the phone's camera over the microscope eyepiece by moving the stage left & right and the clips up & down. Mark sure the phone camera and microscope are on; it's best if you have a sample already prepared in the microscope.
STEP 5
Adjust the depth of the SkyLight on the microscope eyepiece by loosening the white plastic thumbscrew on the base of the SkyLight, moving the entire SkyLight up or down on the eyepiece until the edges of the image are crisp, and then re-tightening the thumbscrew.
